What We Teach

The Ballroom and Latin teaching Programme consists of regular weekly classes for adults. Social group classes are conducted at Blackheath, Hazelbrook and Lithgow. Adults of all ages are most welcome. The Studio's focus is to teach not just routines but to encourage and foster good enjoyable social dancing. Dances taught include waltz, quickstep, foxtrot (slow and rhythm), tango, jive, rock n roll, cha cha cha, rumba, samba, and many of the New Vogue dances currently performed at the many social venues across the Sydney area e.g Swing Waltz, Tangoette, Mayfair Quickstep, Barclay Blues etc.

We are a Bridal Waltz specialist, and private tuition can be purchased by the lesson or as a package. Private tuition is also available in all dance styles taught by the Studio.

Mid Mountains also undertakes formal Dance Teacher training for any one who may be interested in gaining a recognised dance qualification. For more details on dance training, follow the link provided on our home page.

Group lessons are formally structured but flexible to meet everyones dance needs. Come along with a partner or just yourself, improve your confidence, meet people from all walks of life and make new friends.

All group lessons are designed to be fun, enjoyable and social in a friendly atmosphere. Routines taught in all dance styles range from basic beginner to advance.

Lessons also cover other aspects of Ballroom Dancing including timing, footwork, leading and following and encompassing the dance style; e.g. cha cha cha is fun and cheeky or quickstep as light, bright and exciting.

We also hold technical and revision workshops throughout the year to improve basic movement, routines, style and leads in both Latin American and Standard Ballroom.

The Studio runs a monthly social dance on the last Saturday of each month open to all students and other ballroom dancers to experience the fun and vitality of a night of social dancing.
